Every step to become an AARR-certified recovery residence in Arkansas — aligned with the national NARR Standard 3.0. Each step builds on the one before it.
Review NARR Standard 3.0 and requirements
Review the national standard and your level's requirements checklist before you begin preparing policies, handbooks, forms, and property documentation. NARR 3.0 is organized around four domains: Administrative & Operational, Physical Environment, Recovery Support, and Good Neighbor.
Submit inquiry and prescreen
Once you have reviewed the requirements, submit your initial inquiry so AARR can follow up on readiness, property status, and next steps. A one-time application fee begins the process when you are ready to move forward.
Complete online certification training
Complete the certification training so your team understands the process, required policies, document expectations, and what to expect during review.
Apply and submit documents
After completing the online training, you will receive a link to the full online application package. Submit your policies, including your resident handbook, staff manual, and supporting materials. Use the certification requirements document to confirm your package is complete.
Document review and on-site assessment
AARR reviews the submitted materials and conducts the on-site assessment. After successful review, AARR grants certification and lists the home in the certified directory.
Certification granted
Once both review phases are complete and findings are resolved, you sign the AARR Compliance Agreement and are issued certification for each residence. Your organization is then listed on the AARR directory and the NARR national directory.
